世間には、ICM photographyという撮影方法がありますが、これは撮影する際にカメラを振って意図的にブレを作って撮影する方法です。
そのため撮れる写真は、ブレというより画像の流れが美しいイメージとなり、抽象的でアーティスティックなアート作品のような雰囲気を作れる撮影法です。
There is a photography method called ICM photography, which involves intentionally shaking the camera when taking a picture to create blur.
The photos that are taken this way have a beautiful flow of images rather than blurry images, and can create the atmosphere of an abstract, artistic work of art.

私は、このICM photographyを少し工夫して撮影することを、数年前からはじめました。
その方法は簡単にいうと、カメラのHDRモードでICM撮影をするというものです。
この撮影法を、HDR ICM photographyと称してその撮影法全般を提唱しています。

HDR ICM photographyが撮影できる原理は、”HDR”モードでは一度のシャッターで3枚の画像を連続撮影します。
その時に、カメラを素早く振り回します（ICM撮影）。
これによって、3枚の異なる画像が撮影され、”HDR”撮影によ明暗合成がされます。

・一部にピンが合い、一方で流れていたり、

そこんな画像が撮影されるのです。

ここでは、HDR ICM photographyの撮影方法について、簡単に説明しておきましょう。

使用機材。

必要な使用機材はカメラのみですが、撮影モードで”HDR”モードがあるもの。
さらに、”HDR”モード撮影の時一回のシャッターで”3枚撮影”するタイプのものです。
この”HDR”モードですが、年代やメーカーやカメラのよって微妙に違うかもしれません。
私が使っているのは、2012年代のコンデジ。

その方法は、

・シャッタを押しながら、カメラをブラシたり、大きくスイングしたりする。
・カメラの動かし方を工夫する（回転、大きく、小さく、上向き、横スライド、縦スライド…）

– Try different ways to move the camera (rotate, move it around, move it up, slide it sideways, slide it vertically…)

まず簡単に結果が得られる、”HDR ICM photography”撮影をする時の条件をあげておきます。

・曇りよりも晴れなど光の明暗がある方がいい。
・まずは、空をバックにした木の枝を撮ってみて、体験しよう。
・スタート（木）>>>スイング>>>エンド（空）を試してみよう。
・夕暮れの空と街明かりもいい被写体。
とこんな感じです。
・It’s better to have a mix of light and dark, such as sunny days, rather than cloudy days.
・First, try taking a photo of a tree branch with the sky in the background to experience it.

もともと私は、スナップでこの方法を使っていましたが、最近では風景を撮影して作品を作っています。
さらに今、私が考えているのは…

・フラッシュとの同期。
・前後移動（車でテスト済み）。
・カメラのスイングによって、二人の人を一枚に収める。
・車の窓からの撮影（横移動）。
・カメラ固定、風景が動くパターン（人混みを撮ってコンテスト入選した）。
・風に揺らぐ木の枝やコスモス…。
こんな風に、様々な撮り方がありそうです。

もともと、現代写真の作品制作として思いついた”HDR ICM photography”なので、幾らかのコンセプトや意味づけを考えていました。
まだ、整理はできていないのですが、以下のようなポイントが気になっています。

I haven’t sorted it out yet, but the following points are of interest to me:

・撮影画像がコラージュ的になることで、風景が平面的に再構成されるところが、ボケに頼らない・平面構成主体の写真になる。
・撮影画像がコラージュ的になることで、普通の景色が急に抽象的になることがある。
・作為性の回避ができる？
・ICMの流線は、シャッタースピードの一瞬を視覚的に引き伸ばして視認できる？
…など。
こんなことを思っています。
