In December 2023, the water level of Lake Biwa fell to -70 cm due to light rain. As a result, the lakebed that is normally invisible can be seen exposed in many places around Lake Biwa.<\/p>\n

On the shores of Nagahama, Okunozu, they normally float on Lake Biwa, 200 meters away from land, but due to the drought, the bottom of the lake has been exposed and it is now connected to the land.
\nIt has been talked about as being similar to the French temple Mont Saint-Michel.
\nThis has become a hot topic, and tourists from both within and outside of Shiga Prefecture have been visiting, walking along the exposed lake bed on the shores of Lake Biwa and taking photos, and walking across to Okunozu.<\/p>\n

\u9678\u7d9a\u304d\u306b\u306a\u3063\u305f\u5965\u306e\u6d32\u3092\u5199\u771f\u306b\u53ce\u3081\u3066\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\/I took pictures of Okunozu, which is connected to land.<\/h2>\n

\u3053\u306e\u73cd\u3057\u3044\u5149\u666f\u3092\u5199\u771f\u306b\u53ce\u3081\u6b8b\u3059\u3053\u3068\u3092\u8003\u3048\u3001\u9577\u6d5c\u306e\u5965\u306e\u6d32\u3078\u64ae\u5f71\u306b\u5411\u304b\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002
\n\u73fe\u5730\u306b\u5230\u7740\u3057\u305f\u306e\u306f\u5348\u5f8c16\u6642\u904e\u304e\u3001\u3059\u3067\u306b\u51ac\u306e\u967d\u306f\u50be\u304d\u65e5\u66ae\u308c\u304c\u8a2a\u308c\u3088\u3046\u3068\u3057\u3066\u3044\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n

I decided to take a photo of this rare sight, so I headed to Okunozu in Nagahama to photograph it.
\nBy the time we arrived at the site, it was just after 4pm, and the winter sun had already set and nightfall was approaching.<\/p>\n

\nBecause it descends to the same low level as the water surface of Lake Biwa, the hiker, water surface, and ground are captured horizontally.
\nThe setting sun and clouds in the background, and the mountains in the distance, each emit a dramatic twilight color.
\nI was able to capture this scene.<\/p>\n

You can go to Okunozu by setting up the Google Map below.
\nOn the opposite side of the lakeshore road from Okunosu Point, there is a relatively large parking space where you can park your car.
\nI haven’t confirmed it, but it seems like it’s probably a parking lot for people visiting Okunosu.
\nThere are no toilets here, but there is a “Oku-Biwa Sports Forest Parking Lot” 2km south of the lakeshore road, and I think you can use the toilet there.
\nThese facilities and the road leading down to Okunozu, the shallows, and Okunozu all belong to the public and natural environment, so care should be taken when using or entering them.<\/p>\n
